QBE
Need an intro here
Learning need
QBE knows that it can only truly hope to protect itself against cyber security threats if everyone in its global workforce understands the importance of, and develops the skills to practise, sound cyber security behaviours. Inspire was called in to deliver a learning solution to help support QBE reduce the risks of cyber threats to its operations on a worldwide scale.
Audience
QBE is an international insurer with a team of nearly 12,000 people over 27 countries. Our solution needed to reach every one of them across all levels and in three different languages.
Challenge
Cyber security is as much a people issue as it is a technical one. Social engineering is the most common tactic used by cyber criminals, simply because it is the easiest “lock to crack”. It takes a lot of effort and brainpower to try to break into a well-guarded computer network but it is much simpler to trick someone into doing what you want by appealing to their sense of trust, fear, reward, curiosity or conformity.
QBE wanted to raise awareness of this and raise the bar for how well their workforce apply best practice tactics to beat cyber criminals.
Solution
Working closely with the QBE cyber security team, we designed a learning campaign with two clear phases to inspire to act and then upskill to follow through. An animated story kicked off the campaign to bring home the importance of everyone playing their part.
The ideas from here were then developed into an engaging and practical module which walks the QBE team of thousands through the evidence-based actions they can take to best reduce the risk from cyber threats.
